WHAT IS EDEN REFORESTATION PROJECTS?

ROOM IN A BOX - BAUMPFLANZPARTNER EDEN REFORESTATION PROJECTS

Eden Reforestation Projects is a non-profit organization that fights deforestation worldwide. Currently, the organization runs projects in Madagascar, Nepal, Haiti, Indonesia, Mozambique, Kenya, Honduras, Brazil, Ethiopia and the Philippines.

The reforestation of deforested areas is done in cooperation with people from the affected regions. They are hired and trained to replant and sustainably protect the areas. Thus, the replanting of the areas has not only an ecological but also a great socio-economic benefit, as the mostly extremely poor people receive a regular income and can feed their families with it. Trees native to the respective region are planted, which are usually grown locally by seed.

MODULARE MÖBEL

MODULARE MÖBEL

ROOM IN A BOX - BAUMPFLANZPARTNER EDEN REFORESTATION PROJECTS

WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES OF DEFORESTATION?

WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES OF DEFORESTATION?

ROOM IN A BOX - BAUMPFLANZPARTNER EDEN REFORESTATION PROJECTS

The negative consequences of deforestation are diverse. Trees provide habitat for endangered species, clean water sources, sequester carbon, and prevent flooding and erosion. They also help provide the soil with nutrients needed for agriculture. When farmers can no longer grow crops, their farms fail and they have no choice but to move to crowded cities to seek work. To survive, forced labor and extremely exploitative working conditions are not uncommon.

The situation in the project countries is serious. In Madagascar, for example, only 10% of the original forest area remains. Since countless animal species live here that exist nowhere else, reforestation is of enormous importance.

Since Eden Reforestation Projects was founded in 2004, over 977 million trees have already been planted. The organization's goal is to plant at least 500 million trees every year starting in 2025, providing life-changing wages for tens of thousands of villagers in countries where poverty reigns.

Through our partnership, we did our part to reach this ambitious goal together with you, and we're proud to have planted almost 110.000 trees thanks to you.
